Care Stories
This library holds a collection of short audiovisual stories about people’s real-lived experiences of health and social care in Scotland. Each story is told in the teller’s own words and voice and makes use of personal photographs, other still images and music to create a simple video presentation, typically between three and four minutes long. The storytellers include people who use care services, unpaid carers, plus health and social care staff.
The collection has been catalogued to help you find stories relevant to your interests and needs. All stories can be viewed online, providing your organisation permits the streaming of video files, or can be downloaded for local use.
Sincere thanks to everyone who consented to share their stories.
All stories are provided as Adobe Flash files. To play them you will need Adobe Flash Player installed on your computer. It is available as a free download from Adobe's website.
Contact us (karen.barrie@nhs.net) if you require higher resolution versions of the stories, which can be made available on DVD upon request.
